S-Index Interpretation
The S-Index (Sharing Index) is a comprehensive metric that represents the cumulative impact of all your datasets. It is calculated as the sum of Dataset Index scores across all your claimed datasets.
What it means:
- A higher S-index indicates greater overall impact of your datasets relative to typical datasets in their fields of research
- The S-Index grows as you add more datasets or as existing datasets gain more citations and mentions
- It provides a single number to track your research data impact over time
Current S-Index: 5.2 (sum of 3 datasets Dataset Index scores)

This dataset is a result of development of the Balkan Peace Index, a model tailored for evaluating levels of peacefulness in the Balkans. Leaning on the local turn principle in International Relations, the dataset addresses the necessity of a region-specific model. Unlike conventional ranking systems, the Balkan Peace Index focuses on a peace classification method, aiming to explain the decision to policy-makers with an explanation of a country's position on the peace continuum. The objective extends beyond a snapshot of the current state, emphasizing actionable insights for improvement and pre-emptive measures against potential deterioration. As a method we choose a qualitative method for classification -- Decision EXpert. This method allows transparency in the score design, consistency of the scores, and it is convenient through its easy to understand nature and the possibility to perform sensitivity analysis. An integral aspect of this research is the sharing of methodology, data, and results with the wider research community, which can serve as a valuable resource for decision and policy-makers.
