S-Index Interpretation
The S-Index (Sharing Index) is a comprehensive metric that represents the cumulative impact of all your datasets. It is calculated as the sum of Dataset Index scores across all your claimed datasets.
What it means:
- A higher S-index indicates greater overall impact of your datasets relative to typical datasets in their fields of research
- The S-Index grows as you add more datasets or as existing datasets gain more citations and mentions
- It provides a single number to track your research data impact over time
Current S-Index: 27.7 (sum of 15 datasets Dataset Index scores)

Residual mantle Bouguer anomaly grid calculated for the Ohana project located 25-30.5°N, 145.5-137.5°W in the NE Pacific. This ~500x600 km area was the site of an Ocean Bottom Seismometer array deployed Nov 2021-Feb 2023 by a team led by Gabi Laske. Donna Blackman led the bathymetric and gravity analyses. Gravity data processing started with the satellite-based Free Air Anomaly grid (grav_32.1.nc, Sandwell et al., 2014). The contributions of seafloor topography (from the corresponding bathymetry grid called Ohana_bathymetry_200m_v5n.grd), and of a constant thickness (6 km) crust were removed assuming 1700, 250, and 350 kg/m3 density contrasts at the seafloor, upper/lower crust (1.5 km depth), and basal interfaces, respectively. The best-fit exponential age trend of the predicted mantle Bouguer anomaly was removed as an estimate of the contribution of plate cooling for this 40-52 Ma area. The resultant RMBA data was gridded at 200 m. The RMBA data file is in GMT-compatible netCDF grid format.

Bathymetry grid produced as an add-on to the Ohana project. This grid covers 30.5-32.5°N, 134.5-132 °W in the NE Pacific which is to the east of the main Ohana project area. This smaller eastern area was mapped during R/V Sally Ride cruise SR2302 following Ocean Bottom Seismometer array recovery in February 2023 by a team led by Gabi Laske. Donna Blackman led the bathymetry processing and Su Talavera-Soza and Ruei-jiun Hung contributed. Detailed processing for cruise SR2302 was done manually with MB-System mbedit. Hull-mounted multibeam bathymetry data from 5 additional cruises available at NCEI as of January 2023 were compiled with the processed SR2302 multibeam data. All data were gridded at 200 m using mbgrid. The data file is in GMT-compatible netCDF grid format.

This ~500x600 km area was the site of an Ocean Bottom Seismometer array deployed Nov 2021-Feb 2023 by a team led by Gabi Laske. Donna Blackman led the bathymetry processing. Hull-mounted multibeam bathymetry data from 36 cruises available at NCEI by January 2023 were compiled, processed where necessary, and gridded at 200 m spacing. All files were first processed with MB-System using this command: mbclean -I(filelist) -F-1 -S1 -C1 -Z -B1000/6250. Further manual processing to remove outliers with mbedit was required for 22 of the cruises. Detailed processing with mbclean and mbedit was done for cruises KM2117 and SR2302, with Su Talavera-Soza and Ruei-jiun Hung contributing to the processing during the SR2302 cruise. All swath data were gridded using mbgrid. The data file is in GMT-compatible netCDF grid format.
