S-Index Interpretation
The S-Index (Sharing Index) is a comprehensive metric that represents the cumulative impact of all your datasets. It is calculated as the sum of Dataset Index scores across all your claimed datasets.
What it means:
- A higher S-index indicates greater overall impact of your datasets relative to typical datasets in their fields of research
- The S-Index grows as you add more datasets or as existing datasets gain more citations and mentions
- It provides a single number to track your research data impact over time
Current S-Index: 0.4 (sum of 1 dataset Dataset Index scores)

This poll is the eleventh in an ongoing series of polls being undertaken by the Australian National University. Their purpose is to assess Australians’ opinions on important and topical issues, with an emphasis on international comparisons. These surveys are planned to be conducted three times a year, or about every four months. Some questions appear in every poll in order to provide information about changes in opinion over time; the majority of questions appear in one poll only. The main focus of this eleventh poll was to explore community attitudes to the consumption of food. It covers respondents’ consumption of food outside the home, attitudes to importation and to genetically modified foods, and their ability to access sufficient food.
