S-Index Interpretation
The S-Index (Sharing Index) is a comprehensive metric that represents the cumulative impact of all your datasets. It is calculated as the sum of Dataset Index scores across all your claimed datasets.
What it means:
- A higher S-index indicates greater overall impact of your datasets relative to typical datasets in their fields of research
- The S-Index grows as you add more datasets or as existing datasets gain more citations and mentions
- It provides a single number to track your research data impact over time
Current S-Index: 0.7 (sum of 4 datasets Dataset Index scores)

Title: Seismic Design of Reinforced Masonry Shear-wall Structures (NEES-2011-1045)

Year Of Curation: 2014

Description: This research is intended to produce much-needed experimental data to better understand the seismic performance of reinforced masonry shear-wall structures, and to develop improved design methodologies, detailing requirements, and analytical methods for the design and performance assessment of these structures. Current design methods and code requirements for reinforced masonry buildings are not entirely rational and are occasionally impractical, especially for commonly encountered low-rise buildings that have walls with many openings. Experimental data on the nonlinear behavior of reinforced masonry shear walls is very limited, and mostly gathered between the mid 1980s and the early 1990s under a major NSF-supported research program. However, the shear walls tested in that program did not cover the wide range of design parameter values, such as the wall aspect ratios, reinforcement quantities, and axial compressive loads, that are currently permitted in codes and used in practice. There is almost no data on the dynamic performance of full-scale masonry shear-wall structures, including the effect of wall rocking on component and system performance.

Award: NIST 60NANB10d013

PIs & CoPIs: Benson Shing, Richard Klingner, David McLean

Dates: May 01, 2010 to Present

Organizations: University of California, San Diego, CA, United States, University of Texas at Austin, TX, United States, Washington State University, WA, United States

Facilities: Washington State University, WA, United States, University of California, San Diego, CA, United States, University of Texas at Austin, TX, United States

Sponsor: NIST - 60NANB10d013

Keywords: --

Publications: --
<nb:citations></nb:citations>
