S-Index Interpretation
The S-Index (Sharing Index) is a comprehensive metric that represents the cumulative impact of all your datasets. It is calculated as the sum of Dataset Index scores across all your claimed datasets.
What it means:
- A higher S-index indicates greater overall impact of your datasets relative to typical datasets in their fields of research
- The S-Index grows as you add more datasets or as existing datasets gain more citations and mentions
- It provides a single number to track your research data impact over time
Current S-Index: 0.6 (sum of 1 dataset Dataset Index scores)

Summary
This metadata record provides details of the data supporting the claims of the related article: “Characterisation of PALB2 tumours through whole exome and whole transcriptomic analyses”. The related study describes molecular characteristics of PALB2 tumours with either germline or somatic alterations. Type of data: whole exome sequencing, RNA sequencing, shallow whole genome sequencing Subject of data: Homo sapiens Sample size: 560 Population characteristics: DNA from fresh frozen tumour tissues and matched peripheral blood lymphocytes of breast cancer patients; RNA from tumour tissues Recruitment: Patients were recruited sequentially from a hospital-based cohort. The hospital in point, Subang Jaya Medical Centre, is a private Malaysian hospital within the Kuala Lumpur metropolitan area, where patients tend to be of higher socio-economic status relative to the general population. Data access Sequencing data for the related study (WES, RNA-seq and sWGS bam files) are available on the European Genome-phenome Archive under the study accession number https://identifiers.org/ega.study:EGAS00001004518. Access to controlled patient data will require the approval of the MyBrCa Tumour Genomics Data Access Committee upon request to the corresponding author at [email protected]. Characteristics of tumours with germline and somatic PTV identified in PALB2, BRCA1 and BRCA2 carriers are shared openly as part of this data record in the Excel file ‘Datasets 1 2 3.xlsx’. Differentially expressed Genes (DEGs) are shared openly as part of this data record in the file 'Supplementary File 1.xlsx'. Corresponding author(s) for this study Professor Soo Hwang Teo, Cancer Research Malaysia, 1, Jalan SS12/1A, 47500 Subang Jaya, Malaysia. [email protected].
Study approval Recruitment and genetic studies have been approved by the Ethics Committee of Subang Jaya Medical Centre [reference no: 201208.1] and written informed consent was given by each participant.
