S-Index Interpretation
The S-Index (Sharing Index) is a comprehensive metric that represents the cumulative impact of all your datasets. It is calculated as the sum of Dataset Index scores across all your claimed datasets.
What it means:
- A higher S-index indicates greater overall impact of your datasets relative to typical datasets in their fields of research
- The S-Index grows as you add more datasets or as existing datasets gain more citations and mentions
- It provides a single number to track your research data impact over time
Current S-Index: 2.5 (sum of 4 datasets Dataset Index scores)

Dissolved inorganic carbon, total alkalinity, temperature, salinity, and dissolved oxygen collected from discrete sample and CTD observations in Baffin Bay, Nares Strait, and passages of the Canadian Arctic Archipelago during the 2023 CCGS Amundsen scientific expedition (AMD23) from 2023-08-13 to 2023-10-03 (NCEI Accession 0309808)
This dataset contains discrete measurements collected during the Knowledge and Ecosystem-based Approach in Baffin Bay (KEBABB) program and the ArcticCORE (Conservation, Observation, Research and Engagement) program of Fisheries and Oceans Canada (Arctic Region). Specifically, this dataset includes discrete bottle measurements of dissolved inorganic carbon, total alkalinity, and salinity, as well as corresponding CTD measurements of temperature, salinity, and dissolved oxygen. Observations were made throughout the eastern Canadian Arctic including in Baffin Bay, Nares Strait, some passages of the Canadian Arctic Archipelago, and various fjord systems in all of these sub-regions. These measurements were collected during Leg 2 (KEBABB program) and Leg 3 (ArcticCORE program) of the 2023 Amundsen expedition.

Dissolved inorganic carbon (DIC), total alkalinity (TA), water temperature, salinity and dissolved oxygen collected from discrete samples and profile observations during the Canadian Beaufort Sea Marine Ecosystem Assessment (CBS-MEA) F/V Frosti expedition (EXPOCODE 18DN20170803) in the Arctic Ocean, Beaufort Sea from 2017-08-03 to 2017-09-04 (NCEI Accession 0237915)
This dataset includes discrete sample and profile data collected during the Canadian Beaufort Sea Marine Ecosystem Assessment (CBS-MEA) F/V Frosti expedition (EXPOCODE 18DN20170803) in the Arctic Ocean, Beaufort Sea from 2017-08-03 to 2017-09-04. These data include water temperature, salinity, dissolved oxygen, dissolved inorganic carbon (DIC) and total alkalinity. Starting in 2017, Fisheries and Oceans Canada (DFO) conducted a survey of marine fishes and their habitats on the Canadian Beaufort Shelf and slope in August and early September each year. Sampling was conducted from the F/V Frosti at 144 stations along nine multi-year transects; and 32 non-transect stations. Standardized sampling was conducted at pre-determined depth stations using a variety of sampling equipment including benthic fishing trawls; plankton nets; sediment cores; and CTD and water sample profiles. The ocean acidification program was implemented in DFO’s Central and Arctic Region (Freshwater Institute) in 2017, funded by the Aquatic Climate Change Adaption Services Program (ACCASP). This submission covers measurements conducted in the Canadian Beaufort Sea in 2017.
