S-Index Interpretation
The S-Index (Sharing Index) is a comprehensive metric that represents the cumulative impact of all your datasets. It is calculated as the sum of Dataset Index scores across all your claimed datasets.
What it means:
- A higher S-index indicates greater overall impact of your datasets relative to typical datasets in their fields of research
- The S-Index grows as you add more datasets or as existing datasets gain more citations and mentions
- It provides a single number to track your research data impact over time
Current S-Index: 2.3 (sum of 2 datasets Dataset Index scores)

This is the JULES output data that are analysed and presented in the paper entitled "JULES-CN: a coupled terrestrial Carbon-Nitrogen Scheme (JULES vn5.1)" by Wiltshire et al., 2021, DOI: https://doi.org/10.5194/gmd-2020-205. The data are annual mean model output data for vn5.1 of JULES. The filenames are in the format CONFIGURATION.NAME.YEAR.nc CONFIGURATION is one of: vn5.1_loff_noff_GMD - this is using the carbon cycle only configuration of JULES, i.e. the JULES-C configuration vn5.1_loff_non_GMD - this is using the carbon and nitrogen configuration of JULES, i.e. the JULES-CN configuration vn5.1_lon_non_GMD - this is using the carbon and nitrogen configuration of JULES with layered soil biogeochemistry, i.e. the JULES-CNlayered configuration. NAME is one of: S2.C_N_Annual - mainly carbon and nitrogen variables S2.Annual - mainly physical variables YEAR is one of: year between 1860 and 2009
