En el marco del proyecto de Conservación de Félidos Silvestres del Putumayo y la Amazonia, se planteó el objetivo de monitorear a estas especies, con el fin de obtener registros actuales sobre su presencia, principalmente en zonas donde se han presentado más conflictos con las mismas. Para el seguimiento e identificación de estos félidos, se empleó las cámaras trampa. Este recurso contiene 5.860 registros de cámaras trampa, abarcando 55 especies distribuidas en mamíferos (5.180), aves (679) y un reptil.
