In the past two decades, many independent or large-scale projects have generated mass data silos on marine metagenomics but, until now, we still lack a unified and comprehensive collation. We collected public marine metagenomes from 2009 to 2020, reconstructed 43,191 qualified genomes. Combining these MAGs with public marine bacterial and archaeal genomes (NCBI, OMD and OceanDNA), we generated a non-redundant catalogue composed of 24,195 genomes, which represents the Global Ocean Microbiome Catalogue (GOMC).
