El Herbario Padre Luis Sodiro (QPLS) es una colección histórica que contiene alrededor de 13500 muestras botánicas recolectadas entre 1856 y 1956. Aproximadamente, el 87% de las muestras proceden de Ecuador, principalmente de la región interandina, costa, noroccidente del país y del ingreso a la Amazonía hasta Cuyuja; y el 13% restante son de otros países. La mayor parte de las muestras fueron recolectadas por el padre Luis Sodiro, S.J. (1836-1909), y también hay muestras de otros padres jesuitas, como A. Mille, S.J., y P.J. Verleysen, S.J.
