S-Index Interpretation
The S-Index (Sharing Index) is a comprehensive metric that represents the cumulative impact of all your datasets. It is calculated as the sum of Dataset Index scores across all your claimed datasets.
What it means:
- A higher S-index indicates greater overall impact of your datasets relative to typical datasets in their fields of research
- The S-Index grows as you add more datasets or as existing datasets gain more citations and mentions
- It provides a single number to track your research data impact over time
Current S-Index: 0.6 (sum of 2 datasets Dataset Index scores)

This data set is taken from the survey "Local Government Organization at Municipal and County Level, 1996", which was conducted by the Norwegian Institute of Urban and Regional Research (NIBR) on behalf of the Ministry of Local Government and Regional Development (KRD). The purpose of the survey was to collect data for an update of KRD's organizational database. This database provides data on various features of municipal organization in most municipalities and counties in Norway. The purpose of the database is to provide a tool that enables municipalities, counties, state authorities, researchers and others with an interest in municipal organization, to be able to obtain an overview of important organizational features of municipalities and counties, either together or individually. The database is currently based on surveys conducted in 1995, 1996 and 2000. KRD aims to update the database every four years after the municipal council and county council elections. This file contains data for Norwegian county councils retrieved in 1996. The data set is divided into three main sections:1. Political organization2. Administrative organization3. Revision, information / communication measures and competitive exposure
