EBSD and EDS dataset for: Dislocation creep of glaucophane in mafic blueschists during subduction: Weighted Burgers vector analysis from the Catalina Schist (California, USA)

Electron backscattered diffraction (EBSD) and energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDS) data collected from Garnet Blueschist block sample, a polymetamorphic metabasaltic lawsonite blueschist emplaced in the melange of the Lawsonite Blueschist Unit of the Catalina Schist subduction complex on Pimu'nga (Santa Catalina Island, CA, USA; 33°22ʹN 118°28ʹW). A structurally oriented thin section (perpendicular to foliation, parallel to lineation, X-Z plane in section) was prepared from the sample. Mineral assemblage is glaucophane (55%) + lawsonite (15%) + phengite (<10%) + garnet (5%) + quartz (10%) + titanite (<5%) with minor apatite. Sample provided courtesy of Kayleigh Harvey and Sarah Penniston-Dorland.25 files:EBSD maps included (as .ctf text files):GB15_02A: 3.8 x 3.1 mm (3.61 micrometer step size)GB15_Region1: 0.5 x 0.35 mm (1 micrometer step size)GB15_Region2: 0.5 x 0.35 mm (1 micrometer step size)GB15_Region3: 0.5 x 0.35 mm (1 micrometer step size)GB15_Region4: 0.5 x 0.35 mm (1 micrometer step size)GB15_Region5: 0.5 x 0.35 mm (1 micrometer step size)GB15_Region6: 0.5 x 0.35 mm (1 micrometer step size)EDS maps included (as .tiff files):GB15_Region3_Al_K1: 0.25 x 0.17 mmGB15_Region3_Ca_K1: 0.25 x 0.17 mmGB15_Region3_Fe_K1: 0.25 x 0.17 mmGB15_Region3_K_K1: 0.25 x 0.17 mmGB15_Region3_Mg_K12: 0.25 x 0.17 mmGB15_Region3_Mn_K1: 0.25 x 0.17 mmGB15_Region3_Na_K12: 0.25 x 0.17 mmGB15_Region3_Si_Kalp: 0.25 x 0.17 mmGB15_Region3_Ti_K1: 0.25 x 0.17 mmGB15_Region5_Al_K1: 0.25 x 0.17 mmGB15_Region5_Ca_K1: 0.25 x 0.17 mmGB15_Region5_Fe_K1: 0.25 x 0.17 mmGB15_Region5_K_K1: 0.25 x 0.17 mmGB15_Region5_Mg_K12: 0.25 x 0.17 mmGB15_Region5_Mn_K1: 0.25 x 0.17 mmGB15_Region5_Na_K12: 0.25 x 0.17 mmGB15_Region5_Si_Kalp: 0.25 x 0.17 mmGB15_Region5_Ti_K1: 0.25 x 0.17 mmArticle: Dislocation creep of glaucophane in mafic blueschists during subduction: Weighted Burgers vector analysis from the Catalina Schist (California, USA), Published Gold Open Access in Geology: DOI:10.1130/G53025.1
