Dataset of Near-Surface Oxygen Content Along the Qinghai-Tibet Highway (Qinghai Section) for Winter and Summer in 2024 (Version: V1)

Oxygen is the primary requirement for most life activities and the key substance for human metabolism, the most common public understanding of the harsh natural environment of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau is its high altitude, cold climate, and lack of oxygen. With economic development,The population of short-term residents entering the hinterland of the plateau through the Qinghai Tibet Highway continues to increase, the public's understanding of the health risks of environmental hypoxia along the Qinghai Tibet Highway is extremely limited. Therefore, there is a lack of reference data on oxygen concentration for a wide range of human activities. In this dataset, the oxygen concentration were measured along the Qinghai-Tibet Highway (Qinghai section) as the study area. Based on the landscape differences, 25 measuring points were set up, and the data for latitude, longitude, altitude, air temperature, atmospheric heric pressure, and relative oxygen content were recorded in winter and summer , and then the absolute oxygen content of the measuring points were calculated by the Ideal Gas Law.On this basis, we can reveal the temporal and spatial variation of oxygen concentration along the Qinghai-Tibet Highway, in order to improve the public's integrated cognition of the anoxic environment along the Qinghai-Tibet Highway.
