S-Index Interpretation
The S-Index (Sharing Index) is a comprehensive metric that represents the cumulative impact of all your datasets. It is calculated as the sum of Dataset Index scores across all your claimed datasets.
What it means:
- A higher S-index indicates greater overall impact of your datasets relative to typical datasets in their fields of research
- The S-Index grows as you add more datasets or as existing datasets gain more citations and mentions
- It provides a single number to track your research data impact over time
Current S-Index: 5.0 (sum of 2 datasets Dataset Index scores)

Datasets
The purpose of this dataset was to optimise a method for the analysis of vitamin A, in the form of retinyl palmitate, in fortified cereal products. Hereto, a reversed-phase HPLC procedure to separate retinyl palmitate (analyte) and retinyl acetate (internal standard) was optimised. In a next step , two extraction procedures, using either acetone/methanol or chloroform/methanol as extraction solvent, were optimised and validated. Three different matrices were investigated: a model system consisting of retinyl palmitate, oil and wheat bran, fortified bread and fortified cookies. All files contain experimental data related to the optimisation and validation of the developed method. This dataset contains all data used in the following publication: Van Wayenbergh, E., Verheijen, J., Langenaeken, N.A., Foubert, I. and Courtin, C.M. (2023). A simple method for analysis of vitamin A palmitate in fortified cereal products using direct solvent extraction followed by reversed-phase HPLC with UV detection. Food Chemistry 404, 134584.
