Replication Data for: A simple method for analysis of vitamin A palmitate in fortified cereal products using direct solvent extraction followed by reversed-phase HPLC with UV detection (Version: 1.0)

The purpose of this dataset was to optimise a method for the analysis of vitamin A, in the form of retinyl palmitate, in fortified cereal products. Hereto, a reversed-phase HPLC procedure to separate retinyl palmitate (analyte) and retinyl acetate (internal standard) was optimised. In a next step , two extraction procedures, using either acetone/methanol or chloroform/methanol as extraction solvent, were optimised and validated. Three different matrices were investigated: a model system consisting of retinyl palmitate, oil and wheat bran, fortified bread and fortified cookies. All files contain experimental data related to the optimisation and validation of the developed method. This dataset contains all data used in the following publication: Van Wayenbergh, E., Verheijen, J., Langenaeken, N.A., Foubert, I. and Courtin, C.M. (2023). A simple method for analysis of vitamin A palmitate in fortified cereal products using direct solvent extraction followed by reversed-phase HPLC with UV detection.
