The role of sufficiency measures in decarbonizing Europe (Version: v2.3)

The repository contains the database, data and results related to the article entitled "The role of sufficiency measures in a decarbonizing Europe", published on the 29th of April 2025 on Ecological Economics (DOI:  https://doi.org/10.1016/j.ecolecon.2025.108645) Contents of the RepositoryThis repository includes the key resources used and generated during the research. Below, the included files and their purposes are specified:Extended results. This file contains the full set of results from the analyses performed for the study. These include detailed outputs, scenario comparisons, and sensitivity analyses that extend beyond the material reported in the paper.Exiobase v3.3.18 - MARIO format. This is the unmodified Exiobase v3.3.18 database, already converted into the MARIO-readable format. It serves as the foundational raw dataset for the implementation of additional sector-specific modifications, should they be required.MARIO database. This database is in the MARIO-compatible format and is prepared to be used for both background and sufficiency scenario analyses described in the paper. It allows users to avoid the steps of adding new sectors and to apply the assumptions and hypotheses needed to replicate the findings of the study.Files for shocks. This package includes all data and assumptions necessary to apply the scenario-based shocks used in the study. These inputs are essential for reproducing the models and analyses.Usage and InstructionsTo ensure correct usage and replication of the analyses presented in the paper, all files should be used in conjunction with the instructions and scripts available in the associated GitHub repository.
