This data collection describes the main soil physicochemical characteristics (texture, pH, water status, chemical content), plant traits (root functional traits), microbial diversity (sequencing of Bacteria, Archaea, and Fungi) as well as abundances (DNA, bacterial, and fungal quantifications), and the functioning of urban soils (respiration, nitrogen cycle, extracellular enzymatic activities, potential methanogenesis) in Blois, a medium-sized city of France.
