This data set was acquired with the LDEO seismic acquisition system during an active-source OBS seismic survey of the Carolina Trough and Blake Plateau on the Eastern North American Margin, as part of R/V Marcus G. Langseth cruise MGL2310. This active-source OBS survey followed the Multi-Channel Seismic work done during the previous cruise, MGL2309. The data files are in ASCII format and contain seismic source information that includes the shot number, source volume, and source pressure. The data set was collected as part of the project called Rift dynamics during the formation of the Carolina Trough and Blake Plateau. Funding was provided by NSF awards OCE21-12597 and OCE21-12598.

Seismic P-wave velocity models (netCDF format) for the Lesser Antilles Subduction Zone area (EW9803, 1998) (Version: 1)

These two-dimensional seismic P-wave velocity models are derived from inversion of ocean bottom data collected in the Lesser Antilles Subduction Zone area during 1998 R/V Maurice Ewing cruise EW9803. The velocity files are in GMT-compatible netCDF grid format with grid parameters as follows: The x-coordinate is profile distance in km (grid interval 0.5 km), the y-coordinate is depth in km below the sea surface (grid interval 0.5 km), and the z-values are P-wave velocities in km/s. The files with "velm" in the name are masked to show only regions with ray coverage. The data set was generated as part of the project called Structure, Tectonics and Sediment Flow into the Lesser Antilles Subduction Zone, with funding from NSF award OCE96-17751.

Velocity model navigation files (ASCII format) for the Lesser Antilles Subduction Zone area (EW9803, 1998) (Version: 1)

This data set presents the navigation data for two-dimensional seismic P-wave velocity models derived from inversion of ocean bottom data collected in the Lesser Antilles Subduction Zone area during 1998 R/V Maurice Ewing cruise EW9803. The velocity model navigation files are in ASCII format and relate the model distance to (latitude, longitude) coordinates. The files contain three columns: Model distance along the profile (km); Latitude (degrees); Longitude (degrees). The data set was generated as part of the project called Structure, Tectonics and Sediment Flow into the Lesser Antilles Subduction Zone, with funding from NSF award OCE96-17751.
