S-Index Interpretation
The S-Index (Sharing Index) is a comprehensive metric that represents the cumulative impact of all your datasets. It is calculated as the sum of Dataset Index scores across all your claimed datasets.
What it means:
- A higher S-index indicates greater overall impact of your datasets relative to typical datasets in their fields of research
- The S-Index grows as you add more datasets or as existing datasets gain more citations and mentions
- It provides a single number to track your research data impact over time
Current S-Index: 0.5 (sum of 2 datasets Dataset Index scores)

The PALEOSIM Citizen Science Program collected 612 photography-based observations of arthropods within the Circum-Sicilian Islands. These observations were gathered through dedicated fieldwork and contributions from citizen volunteers who uploaded their findings using the Epicollect5 app. This dataset includes all observations, carefully validated by expert co-authors specializing in various arthropod classes and families. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the anonymous volunteers who participated in this initiative. Special thanks go to Francesco Allegrino, Adrian Agius, Michelle Ciarlo`, Gareth Galea, Claire Galea, and Stephen Vella for their invaluable support in accompanying researchers during fieldwork. For more information about the project, visit: PALEOSIM Citizen Science Programme.
