S-Index Interpretation
The S-Index (Sharing Index) is a comprehensive metric that represents the cumulative impact of all your datasets. It is calculated as the sum of Dataset Index scores across all your claimed datasets.
What it means:
- A higher S-index indicates greater overall impact of your datasets relative to typical datasets in their fields of research
- The S-Index grows as you add more datasets or as existing datasets gain more citations and mentions
- It provides a single number to track your research data impact over time
Current S-Index: 0.7 (sum of 2 datasets Dataset Index scores)

The first file named as "Vegetation database_Merlin.csv" presents the vegetation structure data (Species Richness, DBH= Diameter at breast height, BA=Basal area) studied in 6 plots of 0.5ha each (3 in the Secondary Forest and 3 in the Transitional forest) identified in the high altitude zone of the Kahuzi Biega National Park. The second file named as "Soil database_Merlin" presents the soil physicochemical data (SOC stocks=Soil organic carbon stocks, SOC=Soil organic carbon, CE=Coarse element, BD= Bulk density, C/N=Carbon-Nitrogen ratio, TN= Total nitrogen, P= phosphorous, K=Potassium, C/clay=Carbon-Clay ratio) obtained from 5 land uses identified at the edge of the Kahuzi Biega National Park: transitional forest (TF), secondary forest (SF), forest plantations (FP), forest fallows (FF), and cultivated lands (CL). These results were obtained over two periods of time, which are 2018 and 2024.
