S-Index Interpretation
The S-Index (Sharing Index) is a comprehensive metric that represents the cumulative impact of all your datasets. It is calculated as the sum of Dataset Index scores across all your claimed datasets.
What it means:
- A higher S-index indicates greater overall impact of your datasets relative to typical datasets in their fields of research
- The S-Index grows as you add more datasets or as existing datasets gain more citations and mentions
- It provides a single number to track your research data impact over time
Current S-Index: 6.3 (sum of 12 datasets Dataset Index scores)

This data set contains the imagery collected on the Marine National Facility (MNF) RV Investigator voyage IN2024_V04, titled ‘East Australian Current canyons survey’. The voyage took place between 07/06/2024 and 03/07/2024 (AEST), departing from Sydney and ending in Brisbane, collecting imagery of benthic habitats together with oceanographic data targeting two canyons – Solitary and Richmond canyon – and the adjacent slope.Instrument(s) used to collect this data:MNF Deep Towed camera (DTC)Datasets include: Video (oblique forward view)Stereo stills (oblique forward view)Navigational data

This data set contains the imagery collected on the Marine National Facility (MNF) RV Investigator voyage IN2018_V06, titled "Status and recovery of deep-sea coral communities on seamounts in iconic Australian marine reserves". The voyage took place from Hobart (TAS) to Hobart between November 23 and December 19, 2018, collecting imagery of benthic habitats of the southern Tasmanian seamounts and the adjacent slope in and outside of the Huon and the Tasman Fracture Marine Parks, and off eastern Tasmania. This is a demonstration version of the data set created with the public towed camera marimba pipeline, a more complete version of the data processed through the CSIRO internal pipeline will be published through the DAP.Instrument(s) used to collect this data:MRI Towed camera (MRITC)Datasets include: Video (oblique forward view)Stereo stills (oblique forward view)Navigational data

This data represents an image-rescue effort of digitising and documenting analogue slide film imagery under the CSIRO FAIR Imagery Project (OD-227712). This data set contains the imagery collected for the South-East Fishery (Habitat and) Ecosystem Study (SEFHES) on the RV Southern Surveyor voyages SS199305, SS199405, 199602 and 199606. The voyages took place between 1993 and 1996, collecting fisheries data and imagery of the seafloor habitats of the continental shelf off south-eastern Australia. The slide rescue effort targeted particular sampling operations based on locations coinciding with sampling targets of the 2023-2025 SEA-MES surveys and where continuous film strips of >4 slides were archived.Instrument(s) used to collect this data: Osprey Camera System (OCS) mounted on an epibenthic sled Video - TACOS (analog) – photographic slides were taken through the video lensDatasets include: Stills (oblique forward view) – scanned slide film. Navigational data, interpolated between start and end of gear deployment.

This data set contains the imagery collected on the Marine National Facility (MNF) RV Investigator voyage IN2024_V02, titled ‘SOTS: Southern Ocean Time Series automated moorings for climate and carbon cycle studies southwest of Tasmania’. The voyage took place between 31/03/2024 and 19/04/2024 (AEST), departing from Hobart and ending in Hobart. Imagery and acoustics were collected as part of a piggy-back project at Patience seamount to contribute data to CSIRO Project OD-227021 Monitoring KNVs in marine parks using acoustic and optical methods ('basketwork eel').Instrument(s) used to collect this data:MNF Deep Towed camera (DTC)Datasets include: Video (oblique forward view)Stereo stills (oblique forward view)Navigational data
