Early marine ecology of juvenile chum salmon in Kuskokwim Bay, Alaska, 2003-2004, Hillgruber, N. (Version: 1)

This database includes data collected to determine juvenile chum salmon migration timing, temporal and spatial distribution, energy content, feeding, and age in Kuskokwim Bay, Alaska. Cruises were conducted in the summers of 2003 and 2004 at a series of stations distributed throughout the bay. Chum salmon were captured with a modified Kvichak tow-net and oceanographic data were collected with a SEACAT CTD profiler. Stomach fullness, gut content, energy content of fish, and age since emergence were determined for all chum salmon captured. These datasets were archived as part of the North Pacific Research Board legacy project recovery effort undertaken by Axiom Data Science and NPRB in 2025. The goal of the recovery effort was to assess the NPRB-funded data projects from 2002 to 2014 and archive final data packages that were ready for publication to increase long-term accessibility and discoverability. Data packages were archived as is given limited funding and resources.
