S-Index Interpretation
The S-Index (Sharing Index) is a comprehensive metric that represents the cumulative impact of all your datasets. It is calculated as the sum of Dataset Index scores across all your claimed datasets.
What it means:
- A higher S-index indicates greater overall impact of your datasets relative to typical datasets in their fields of research
- The S-Index grows as you add more datasets or as existing datasets gain more citations and mentions
- It provides a single number to track your research data impact over time
Current S-Index: 0.1 (sum of 1 dataset Dataset Index scores)

This collection contains data collected by Russian and former Soviet Union oceanographers from 1870 to 1941 years from Arctic Ocean and Arctic Seas. Most of these data were discovered from the archives not widely opened to the public that makes this atlas invaluable contribution to the international scientific community. This archival package is a copy of the History of the Arctic Exploration atlas website containing html files, pdf files of cruise reports, data distribution maps, and data in comma separated value format.NCEI decommissioned the International Ocean Atlas and Information Series Volume 8: History of the Arctic Exploration 2003 in May 2025 with no further updates.
