Thema des am Sonderforschungsbereich 580 in Jena angesiedelten Forschungsprojektes B2 ist die Frage nach der Erosion interner Arbeitsmärkte sowie der Ausweitung von Instabilität und Risiko. Dabei liegt der Schwerpunkt auf betrieblicher Beschäftigungsstabilität und betrieblichen Beschäftigungssystemen. Bei der Betriebsbefragung handelt es sich um eine CATI-Panelstudie, die in vier Wellen erhoben wurde. Die erste drei Wellen (2002, 2004, 2006) stehen zur Sekundärnutzung zur Verfügung. Inhaltlicher Schwerpunkt sind die betrieblichen Determinanten von Beschäftigungsstabilität und flexiblem Personaleinsatz.
