Orthorectified images from fracture networks in Lower Cretaceous carbonates of the Parmelan, France. The outcrop is used as an analogue to a fractured geothermal reservoir in the Geneva Basin.
UAV missions with a Mavic 3 were executed June 2024. The photos taken during the missions are the input for modelling with Agisoft Metashape to create the orthorectified images. They are georeferenced in UTM 32N framework. Each image is accompanied by a *.tfw with the same name. Please get in contact if the original photos are needed.
In the paper 'A Fracture Never Comes Alone: Associations of Fractures and Stylolites in Analogue Outcrops Improve Borehole Image Interpretations of Fractured Carbonate Geothermal Reservoirs', the location of the orthoimages is displayed in figure 4. Field observation in the form of circular scanlines are compared with data derived from the orthoimages, to evaluate the importance of ground measurements compared to UAV-derived data. On the images, targets (orange, green or red markers) indicate the locality where circular scanlines with radius of 1 meter are taken.
