S-Index Interpretation
The S-Index (Sharing Index) is a comprehensive metric that represents the cumulative impact of all your datasets. It is calculated as the sum of Dataset Index scores across all your claimed datasets.
What it means:
- A higher S-index indicates greater overall impact of your datasets relative to typical datasets in their fields of research
- The S-Index grows as you add more datasets or as existing datasets gain more citations and mentions
- It provides a single number to track your research data impact over time
Current S-Index: 20.7 (sum of 8 datasets Dataset Index scores)

The dataset provides the data on gambling policies accessible in online and offline resources. The regulations are those implemented by Italian Municipalities between 2003 and 2021. The data set comprise the information collected by the documentation mapped and retrieved from the “Mapping of local gambling initiatives in Italy” (Baratin, et al. 2022), the personal archive of Dr Paolo Jarre and of Prof Marco Pedroni (both accessed in march 2021) The following variables are available: Municipality ISTAT Code (ID), Municipality Name (Name) Province, Region, Major’s party, Majority coalition, Title of the measure, and a series of variables identifying the type of rulings adopted (“regolamento”, “ordinanza” and “delibera”), the topics covered, the year of approval. Additional variables describe the restrains placed upon zoning and timing for arcades or electronic gambling machines (EGM). Overall, the dataset comprises 2097 specific regulations.

The dataset provides the complete enumeration of gambling policies implemented by Italian Municipalities between 2003 and 2021. The dataset comprises information on all municipalities existing in 2017 and following years (thus considering also merging). The following variables are available: Municipality ISTAT Code (ID), Municipality Name (Name) Province, Region, Researcher, and a series of variables identifying the number and the type of rulings adopted (“regolamento”, “ordinanza” and “delibera”). The rulings are distinguished between identified and downloaded or only identified (because the document is no longer available). Additional variables describe municipal activism with other administrative acts (Anti-gambling Manifesto, events, projects or tax reductions). Overall, the dataset comprises 8031 units.

The dataset provides data on Italian Municipalities policies pertaining to participatory budgeting (PB). The dataset comprises information on municipalities with a population over 2,000 inhabitants, and it is composed as follows: Municipality ISTAT Code (ID), Municipality Name (MN) Province, Region, Population (2011 Census), Researcher (IR), Mapping randomized process (MR), Mapping Method (MM), twenty dummy variables identifying Municipalities running a PB in a given year (y1994, y2002 to y2020), Number of years with PB (TOT). Overall, the dataset comprises 4517 units (with 467 missings), for a total of 4050 mapped municipalities.

In spite of cross national differences, one of the most relevant concerns for young European people nowadays, is represented by job insecurity. In this contribution, the authors aim to shed light on the triggering role of job precariousness and unemployment on individual repertoires of political actions among young people in three European cities (Lyon in France, Turin in Italy, Cologne in Germany). Theo-retically, the paper addresses the existing limitations in the literature on precarious workers’ political par-ticipation by proposing a new comprehensive framework which includes a broad set of actions, including institutionalized and non-institutionalized forms of political action (e.g. petitions, public demonstrations, disruptive actions). Empirically, a quantitative descriptive technique - Latent Class Cluster Analysis (LCCA)- is deployed allowing to take into account different variables (e.g. socio-demographic conditions, educa-tional attainment, age, employment status and political beliefs) to portray, for each city under analysis and for each “mode” of participation, a set of ideal-typical individual profiles.
