S-Index Interpretation
The S-Index (Sharing Index) is a comprehensive metric that represents the cumulative impact of all your datasets. It is calculated as the sum of Dataset Index scores across all your claimed datasets.
What it means:
- A higher S-index indicates greater overall impact of your datasets relative to typical datasets in their fields of research
- The S-Index grows as you add more datasets or as existing datasets gain more citations and mentions
- It provides a single number to track your research data impact over time
Current S-Index: 5.7 (sum of 1 dataset Dataset Index scores)

Datasets
This data set contains the high vertical resolution (0.5 second PTH and 0.25 second GPS and winds) profiles from the eXpendable Digital Dropsondes (XDD) from the High Definition Sounding System (HDSS) that was on the NASA WB-57 aircraft for the Tropical Cyclone Intensity (TCI) 2015 field campaign sponsored by the Office of Naval Research (ONR). The data set includes a total of 786 quality controlled dropsondes from 11 flights in four tropical cyclones in the eastern Pacific (Marty and Patricia) and Atlantic (Erika and Joaquin) basins. The data are in the columnar ASCII EOL Sounding Format and in tar files by flight.
