S-Index Interpretation
The S-Index (Sharing Index) is a comprehensive metric that represents the cumulative impact of all your datasets. It is calculated as the sum of Dataset Index scores across all your claimed datasets.
What it means:
- A higher S-index indicates greater overall impact of your datasets relative to typical datasets in their fields of research
- The S-Index grows as you add more datasets or as existing datasets gain more citations and mentions
- It provides a single number to track your research data impact over time
Current S-Index: 3.8 (sum of 6 datasets Dataset Index scores)

Two large-scale databases with contrasting geographic coverage (236 sites in Global drylands and 185 sites in Patagonia, Argentina) to evaluate the relative importance of abiotic (precipitation, temperature maxima, soil sand content) and biotic (NDVI as proxy of annual net primary productivity) factors as drivers of soil organic carbon concentration in drylands at global and regional scales.

Soil fungal abundance and plant functional traits drive fertile island formation in global drylands. Journal of Ecology, DOI: 10.1111/1365-2745.12871
There are three items with data associated with the three scales evaluated: (1) all sites at the plot level (model1JEcol_1); (2) all sites at the focal plant level (functional trait data; model2JEcol_1); (3) subset of sites for which there was microbial data available (model3JEcol_1). There is also a Metadata file that provides information for the three previously described datasets.

There are two spreadsheets with data. The spreadsheet "Data" contains the data used in the manuscript. The spreadsheet "Metadata" contains the associated metadata, where a description of all the variables and units can be found. All the methodological details can be found in the article.
