S-Index Interpretation
The S-Index (Sharing Index) is a comprehensive metric that represents the cumulative impact of all your datasets. It is calculated as the sum of Dataset Index scores across all your claimed datasets.
What it means:
- A higher S-index indicates greater overall impact of your datasets relative to typical datasets in their fields of research
- The S-Index grows as you add more datasets or as existing datasets gain more citations and mentions
- It provides a single number to track your research data impact over time
Current S-Index: 2.3 (sum of 2 datasets Dataset Index scores)

These data were derived from subbottom profiler data acquired in Pamlico Sound, NC (Lead Investigator: Dr. David Mallinson). Subbottom data were processed using Kingdom Suite software to digitize and export seismic horizons. Paleobathymetry was calculated for 500, 1000, and 4000 cal y BP times by comparison to the Kopp et al. 2015 relative sea-level curve, DOI 10.1007/s10584-015-1451-xin. Data files are of Text File (ASCII) format. This data was cited by Zaremba et al., 2016. Funding was provided by NSF grant OCE11-30843.

These bulk magnetic susceptibility data were measured on cores from Pamlico Sound, North Carolina with a Kappabridge (Investigators: Dr. David Mallinson, Nicholas Zaremba). The data files are in Text File (ASCII) format and include volume susceptibility and depth in meters below core top. Funding was provided by NSF grant OCE11-30843, A Multidisciplinary Investigation of Coastal System Response to Sea-Level Rise, Climate Dynamics, and Geomorphic Change. This data was cited by Zaremba et al., 2016.
