S-Index Interpretation
The S-Index (Sharing Index) is a comprehensive metric that represents the cumulative impact of all your datasets. It is calculated as the sum of Dataset Index scores across all your claimed datasets.
What it means:
- A higher S-index indicates greater overall impact of your datasets relative to typical datasets in their fields of research
- The S-Index grows as you add more datasets or as existing datasets gain more citations and mentions
- It provides a single number to track your research data impact over time
Current S-Index: 11.1 (sum of 16 datasets Dataset Index scores)

This dataset is part of the publication that describes the removal of Cs⁺ from clay minerals using a combined capacitive deionization (CDI) and cationic surfactant approach. It contains the raw data for the reported figures, including Cs⁺ removal efficiency from kaolinite and montmorillonite at different loadings under surfactant-only, CDI-only, and combined treatments, as well as supporting XRD, SEM–EDX, and sequential extraction data used to evaluate structural changes and Cs partitioning.

Data relating to the study of the erosion behaviour and modelling of glass particle beds under impinging jet conditions. The study focuses on particle size effects and the onset of erosion. Ultrasonic profiling was implemented to scan and measure crater profiles. The results indicate that particle size largely affects crater dimensions and erosion behaviour. The standard erosion parameter works well for modelling cohesionless particles down to a certain size limit, beyond which cohesive forces become significant. A new parameter, Eτ, based on particle critical shear stress, is introduced for erosion modelling. The transition to cohesive behaviour observed in the smallest glass particles is successfully accounted for using Eτ.

Data relating to study exploring the phenomenon of in situ generated gas retention within densely packed cylindrical ion-exchange pellets. Initially, discrete element method (DEM) simulations were used to identify pertinent contact packing parameters, rigorously validated through packing experiments. Calibrated values for dynamic and static friction, and the coefficient of restitution were found in ranges of 0.8–1.0, 0–0.2, and 0–0.2, respectively, with the importance of dynamic friction highlighted. The DEM validation process achieved a packing fraction that exhibited < 4 % deviation from experimental data, with some cylinder alignment observed near the column base. Additionally, laboratory-scale gas generation tests were conducted to replicate the retention of hydrogen within densely packed beds, achieved through the decomposition of hydrogen peroxide. X-ray computed tomography was then used to quantify bubble population size and growth within the beds.

Data related to study into the influence of hydrophobicity on particle adsorption by examining the behavior of hydrophobized silica particles at air-water interfaces. Langmuir-Blodgett (LB) trough studies of butanol (‘SiO-butane’) and hexanol (‘SiO-hexane’) esterified particles provided contrasting behavior. The SiO-butane particles formed weaker particle layers that underwent partial collapse with compression, leading to formations significantly below hexagonal close-packed estimates. In contrast, the SiO-hexane particles exhibited improved monolayer behavior and longer-range stability. Droplet surface tensions demonstrated that the hydrophobic particles significantly altered the dynamic tension during adsorption, when methyl isobutyl carbinol (MIBC) was added as a co-surfactant. Short-term modeling elucidated the role of diffusion and energy barriers on adsorption dynamics, with SiO-hexane having reduced diffusion coefficients with respect to SiO-butane and unmodified particles. Long-term modelling allowed calculation of specific adsorption rates.

This dataset is part of a publication that provides insight into the use of nanoparticle additives for yield stress reduction in concentrated suspensions of highly aggregated, irregularly shaped particles of magnesium hydroxide (Mg(OH)2). The dataset includes raw data from rheological tests of suspensions to indicate the use of SiO2 as a successful yield stress modifier. Further analysis using X-ray computed tomography, quartz crystal microbalance, differential scanning calorimetry and UV-visible spectrophotometry shows the effects of aging time on the yield stress modification in this system.
