S-Index Interpretation
The S-Index (Sharing Index) is a comprehensive metric that represents the cumulative impact of all your datasets. It is calculated as the sum of Dataset Index scores across all your claimed datasets.
What it means:
- A higher S-index indicates greater overall impact of your datasets relative to typical datasets in their fields of research
- The S-Index grows as you add more datasets or as existing datasets gain more citations and mentions
- It provides a single number to track your research data impact over time
Current S-Index: 4.3 (sum of 2 datasets Dataset Index scores)

Datasets
This dataset provided was created in the "Humanities Data and Mapping Environments" (http://www.culingtec.uni-leipzig.de/ESU_C_T/node/805) workshop of the European Summer University of Digital Humanities in Leipzig, Germany over the period 18-27 July 2017. Ten workshop participants, here cited as contributors in no particular order, were provided with a map of Leipzig including neighborhoods that they might visit to find samples of writing in languages other than German found in public space. Participants captured the data via mobile devices with the Fulcrum app (fulcrumapp.com). Each record here is associated with an image that is not included in the dataset publication. The data has been anonymized with user names replaced by user_A, user_B, etc. Participants in the workshop had varying levels of fluency in German. The data was not cleaned. The total number of language samples captured was 637.
