Description

Anatomical character matrix for the project "Taxonomic, palaeobiological and evolutionary implications of a new phylogenetic hypothesis for Ornithischia (Archosauria: Dinosauria)" - this dataset contains revised/updated anatomical character scores for most early (Middle Triassic - Early Jurassic) dinosauriforms and expands upon a number of previous studies in terms fo sampling. It contains a broader sample of early ornithischian dinosaur taxa then previous studies, for example the early thyreophroan Scelidosaurus harrisonii, the early neornithischians Hexinlusaurus multidens and Agilisaurus louderbacki, and the 'primitve' ornithischian Laquintasaura venezualae have all been added. The enigmatic and probleamtic taxon Chilesaurus diegosaurezi is also included in the dataset. The dataset now reresents the most up to date version of a working anatomical dataset of early dinosaurs and close dinosaur relatives, which has been designed primarily to analyse the interaltionships between the major dinosauriform groups. The taxa contained in the dataset were scored for 282 anatomical characters, producing a matrix that can be analysed using a number of different methods. The following anatomical characters are to be considered as additive characters: 4, 13, 18, 25, 63, 82, 84, 87, 89, 109, 142, 166, 174, 175, 184, 186, 190, 201, 203, 205, 209, 212, 225, 235, 236, 239, 250 and 256.
