Description

#Sonar Opinion Polls: #-------------------- #From August 1989 Sonar has carried out a number of opinion polls, i.e. surveys of attitudes and habits of life of the adult Danish population. The opinion polls have been carried out regularly in the period (approx. 10 times a year), and each opinion poll includes about six different subjects as well as the question of the respondent's voting intention at a hypothetical general election on the day of the interview. # The opinion polls have been carried out in collaboration with the daily paper Morgenavisen Jyllands-Posten. The subjects for the individual opinion poll are agreed upon at a meeting between the editorial staff of Morgenavisen Jyllands-Posten and Sonar; however, the wording of the questions is the sole responsibility of Sonar. # The following background information is included in the data material: #The household: #- Total number of persons #- Sex and age of the household members #- Type of dwelling #- Car in household #- Geocode-2 # #The respondent: #- Year of birth #- Sex #- Gainful employment #- Designation of occupation #- Membership of a trade organization #- If yes: Which organization #- Vote at the last general election #- Driving in own car # #Sonar Postal Surveys: #--------------------- #In addition to these opinion polls Sonar has carried out a number of postal surveys, often in connection with one of the individual opinion polls. # #The themes of this postal survey are: Degree of satisfaction with life in a number of fields and general satisfaction with life; degree of satisfaction with a number of elements in the job and general satisfaction with the job; how the respondent would spend a prize of 50,000 kroner; whether the respondent or other members of the household have been unemployed within the last year; whether the respondent - if it did not make any financial difference - would prefer a life with or without a job; children in the household; importance of religious faith in everyday life; and the consequences of a 'Yes' and a 'No', respectively, at the EC referendum on 18 May
