Description

These are the results from three separate perception training studies. The participants were Dutch secondary school students of app. 19 years old. The students were tested in a school in Amsterdam. Their level of English is app. B2 CEFR. Each experiment consisted of different participants. Each experiment consisted of around 100 participants. The intervention was as follows. A control group received no intervention and was tested three times with the same test. The test group got five perception training sessions and was also tested three times: on a pretest before the intervention, a posttest after the sessions/intervention and a retention test two months later. The syntax for the regression analysis is in this folder too. SPSS version 23 was used for the analysis. The codebook for the variables is described in variable view (in the sav. file). More information on the analysis and data is in the Speech.pfd folder. It is also in the chapter "Speech perception training as a serious game in the EFL classroom" Proceedings of the Seventh ISCA workshop on Speech and Language Technology in Education 2017, issue 7, pp. 177 - 180.
