A dataset of harmful algal bloom occurrence regions in the East China Sea, the Yellow Sea and the Bohai Sea
View DatasetDescription
This data is a collection of Harmful Algal Blooms (HABs) in the Bohai, Yellow and East China Seas, which originated from the marine bulletin, literature and voyage data. The data included the location, area, occurrence month, duration and types of microalgae of these HABs. The data sources include China marine environment quality bulletin from 2005 to 2016, Zhejiang Province Marine Environment Bulletin 2006, East China Sea marine environment quality bulletin 2009, South China Sea marine environment quality bulletin 2009, China marine disaster bulletin, harmful Algal Blooms (excluding Enteromorpha prolifera) data mentioned in academic journals, and multiple cruises in June, July, August and October of the 2006 year. During the cruises, the high value area of chlorophyll a concentration (ca. 10 μ g / L) was estimated as HABs regions. Among them, the voyage data in 2006 are from the support of 973 project of the Ministry of Science and Technology, "scientific basis for sustainable output and adaptive management of offshore ecosystem under multiple pressures", the third sub-project "response of offshore physical environment to multiple pressures and its impact on the supply of source factors" (No. 2011CB409803). The intensive observation of the Yangtze Estuary in summer 2006 was funded by the 908 project of the State Oceanic Administration. Limited by the personnel at the time of the voyage, water samples only measured the chlorophyll-a concentration and did not analyze the microalgae species. The duration of 0.5 hours was also estimated.
