raw data of a retrospective study done on hypoplastic bone marrows. Quantification of mast cell is done in hypoplastic bone marrow trephine biopsies to differentiate between aplastic anemia and hypoplastic myelodysplastic neoplasm. Presence of increased number of mast cells has been correlated with decreased number of hematopoietuc stem cells.
