FAIRsharing record for: Publishing Requirements for Industry Standard Metadata
View DatasetDescription
This FAIRsharing record describes: The PRISM Working Group was formed in 1999 by a group of publishers, rights holders, systems integrators, software developers, and content aggregators to improve content sharing across media types, rights and contract management, access to content archives, and the exchange and integration of disparate content. The result of this collaboration is the PRISM specification which includes, among other things, a standard set of XML metadata. The PRISM specification thus defines a standard for the description, exchange, and reuse of content in both print and electronic publications.
