Data for: Green Biosynthesis and Characterization of Organic Fructus mori-composite Silver Nanoparticles: Enhanced Antioxidant and Antibacterial Activities
View DatasetDescription
Table S1 describes the effects of different reaction parameters including time, temperature, pH value and silver nitrate concentration on the particle size of biosynthetic silver nanoparticles. Through our particle size optimization experiment, it is found that temperature, pH value and silver nitrate concentration all have significant effects on the biosynthesis process of silver nanoparticles. Appropriate high temperature and alkaline pH value are necessary conditions for producing silver nanoparticles with smaller particle size. It is worth noting that the particle size will not increase with time due to the continuous ultrasonic action in the synthesis. Table S2 shows the DPPH radical scavenging rate of mulberry fruit composite silver nanoparticles (M-AgNPs) and BHT with different concentrations. the DPPH radical clearance rate of both M-AgNPs and BHT increased in a dose-dependent manner in the concentration range of 50 to 300 μg/mL, and that of M-AgNPs was better than or close to that of BHT. The antioxidant activity of M-AgNPs is attributed to the active biomolecules covering on their surfaces. It is well known that phenols and flavonoids in plants are excellent natural antioxidants.
