Description

This data collection describes the glass geochemistry of visible (1-10 cm thick) tephra deposits from lake cores and terrestrial samples collected in Chile, in locations north and south of Lago General Carrera, in January 2020. Data was collected as part of an investigation into the preservation quality of tephra deposits from the 1991 eruption of Hudson (GVP vnum 358057) across a range of preservation environments (small lakes, terrestrial woodland, terrestrial shrub, terrestrial grass). Geochemistry measurements were taken to confirm the source of the tephra deposit. Tephra was analysed on an EPMA at the University of St Andrews.
