Description

17 photographs of buildings in Monterey the city as well as Monterey County, Monterey, California, 1946 May 1. The buildings include a chapel of the Mission San Carlos Borromeo del Río Carmelo, a theater, a building with an El Camino bell marker in front, the Henry House, the Stevenson House, the Casa de Oro in Monterey, a home of Don Juan Bautista Alvarado, the Pacific House [later the museum], Casa Pacheco, Negative no. 1 has a handwritten note that reads "Oldest Theatre in Calif[ornia]," negative no. 6 says "Where Pres[ident] Hoover was married" (the Henry House in Monterey), and negative no. 1 reads, "Monterey Presidio." At least some of these buildings are in the Monterey State Historic Park.
