5 photographs of the streets involved in an incident of a runaway car going downhill, Los Angeles, California, 1940 January 12. {Throughout, the Whittington records have "Tilton" instead of the correct "Tilden" for the street on which the car was parked and on which it ran downhill to crash at Montana.) "Subject: Scenes in Westwood on Tilton & Montana." "Client: Tidwell Co[mpany], Mr. Ratliff; Original print order: 3 ea[ch] ; Size: 4x5; Finish: gl[ossy]; on #4 & 5 print for retaining wall; Year: 1940; Job no. 01-12-77" -- on envelope front. "Operator's report -- name: Jack; 5 original photographs -- size 4x5; Out of city 15 miles; Amount: 9.00" -- on envelope back. "For Tidwell Co[mpany], St. Paul Mercury; Job: Car parked in front of 235 Tilton St[reet], broke loose and ran two blocks down hill into retaining wall at Montana St[reet]; 1- looking into retaining wall and residence, show part of their driveway. #37 and; 2- reverse position and look toward path of car, 279, 280; 3- from across street show where car started from and residence.
