Description

The JVH01 centrifuge model test examined the dynamic response of a buried water reservoir in an unrotated configuration. The soil profile consisted of one layer of uniform medium-dense dry sand. The model was shaken using a suite of 6 broadband earthquake motions at three different reservoir water levels. The model and model structure were heavily instrumented to track the response of the soil-water-structure system. The model reservoir was placed at a shallow embedment depth with no relative rotation to the model container (i.e. the model was subject to one-dimensional shaking).
