Description
This study employed an environmental horizon scanning approach to identify potential new alien vascular plant species and their climatic niche spaces in the Arctic under current climate conditions. The Global Naturalized Alien Flora (GloNAF) database provided the pool of potential new alien species, from which taxa already confirmed present in the Arctic were excluded. The Circumpolar Arctic Vegetation Map (CAVM) was used to delineate the Arctic region. Climatic niche modeling with the hypervolume package in R was then utilized to determine which species from the remaining pool had potential climatic niche overlap in the Arctic.
