Christos Karaberis looking at a scrap book detailing his months of activity selling bonds for the government after he was decorated with the Congressional Medal of Honor. During this period, Karaberis, who had been discharged from the Army, met all of his own expenses, which, together with hospital expenses for his wife, led to his financial predicament. One shot of Mrs. Anita Karaberis shown gratefully placing cans of food on her recently bare cupboard in her project home in San Pedro. They were the gifts of anonymous neighbor. The gift was the first of many sent to the family after the Examiner yesterday revealed the war hero's plight, aggravated by the slow process of the Army's pension review board.
