[Text Description:] A stone with a two-line inscription, an abecedary ❧ [Excavation Description:] At the end of the 2005 excavation season at Tel Zayit, Israel, The Zeitah Excavations recovered a large stone bearing an incised, two-line inscription, (Locus 2307/2389) ❧ [Medium:] Stone ❧ [Script Note:] Hebrew ❧ [Physical Object Description:] Limestone boulder (17.33 kg), 37.5 cm x 27 cm; 15.7 cm height. ❧ [Physical Object Note:] Two lines of letters on one side (plus one additional word), and a large, bowl-shaped hollow (18.5 cm x 14.5 cm; 6.7 cm deep) ground into the other side. ❧ [Physical Object Note:] Used in the construction of a wall dating to the 10th c. BCE, that suffered heavy destruction by fire. ❧
