Description

In my thesis, I pursued two aims: Firstly, despite the well-established understanding of KL's role in the kidney, its functions in other tissues, particularly the CP, remain ambiguous. To address this knowledge gap, I investigated the specific role of KL in the CP. To this end, I employed a mouse model of CP-specific deletion of the KL gene upon the administration of Tamoxifen (Tam). We evaluated the resulting phenotype, behavioral changes, as well as CP and general characteristics of these mice.Secondly, my research aimed to deepen our understanding of the mechanisms underlying Klotho's secretion and function. To unravel the complexities of KL function, I investigated the impact of glycosylation on the secretion and functional aspects of KL
