Description

CdO is Wurtzite structured and crystallizes in the hexagonal P6_3mc space group. The structure is three-dimensional. Cd2+ is bonded to four equivalent O2- atoms to form corner-sharing CdO4 tetrahedra. There are three shorter (2.23 Å) and one longer (2.25 Å) Cd–O bond lengths. O2- is bonded to four equivalent Cd2+ atoms to form corner-sharing OCd4 tetrahedra.
