Description

This data item includes the raw data and analysis data for Chapter 4 to 8 of a doctoral thesis entitled "Enhancing technology acceptance in older adults: Persuasion Senior Technology Acceptance Model (PSTAM)." This study aims to achieve four research objectives: (1) to examine how message and temporal framing influence wearable robot acceptance among older adults with no or low mobility difficulties in Hong Kong [Study 1A; Chapter 6]; (2) to explore the effects of national culture and cultural value orientation on wearable robot acceptance among older adults with no or low mobility difficulties in Hong Kong and the United Kingdom [Study 1B; Chapter 6]; (3) to investigate how different sources of ageism (i.e., self, family and friends, technology developers, and strangers) influence wearable robot acceptance among older adults with moderate mobility difficulties in Hong Kong [Study 2; Chapter 7]; and (4) to elucidate the real-life challenges in daily activities and to understand how price value and consumption methods influence wearable robot acceptance among older adults with high mobility difficulties in Hong Kong. [Study 3; Chapter 8]

Data supporting Chapter 4 were related to two pilot studies: one quantitative with survey data and another qualitative with interview data (including audio, images, and videos). Survey data supporting Chapters 5 and 6 were related to two interrelated quantitative studies. Survey data were deposited to support Chapter 7. For Chapter 8, data consisted of survey data and interview data (including audio, images, and videos).
