Magnetic Structure Determination of Fe3GaTe2

Dr Efrain Rodriguez;Mr Mario Lopez;Dr Ivan Da Silva Gonzalez

Description

Fe3GaTe2 is 2D van der Waal ferromagnetic compound that has a Curie temperature above room temperature. Curiously, no detailed analysis on the magnetic or nuclear structure has been reported for this compound. This proposal plans to use GEM to perform powder neutron diffraction on Fe3GaTe2 and fill this gap in knowledge. To accomplish this goal, we request 36 hours of instrument time to perform three high quality neutron diffraction patterns at 400 K, base temperature and an intermediate temperature. The rest of the time will be used to measure a magnetic order parameter experiment on Fe3GaTe2
