Description

NbCoSn is half-Heusler structured and crystallizes in the cubic F-43m space group. The structure is three-dimensional. Nb is bonded to six equivalent Co and four equivalent Sn atoms to form a mixture of distorted corner and face-sharing NbCo6Sn4 tetrahedra. All Nb–Co bond lengths are 3.09 Å. All Nb–Sn bond lengths are 2.68 Å. Co is bonded in a 10-coordinate geometry to six equivalent Nb and four equivalent Sn atoms. All Co–Sn bond lengths are 2.68 Å. Sn is bonded in a body-centered cubic geometry to four equivalent Nb and four equivalent Co atoms.
