Description
ZnSi3 is Uranium Silicide structured and crystallizes in the cubic Pm-3m space group. The structure is three-dimensional. Zn is bonded to twelve equivalent Si atoms to form ZnSi12 cuboctahedra that share corners with twelve equivalent ZnSi12 cuboctahedra, edges with twenty-four equivalent SiZn4Si8 cuboctahedra, faces with six equivalent ZnSi12 cuboctahedra, and faces with twelve equivalent SiZn4Si8 cuboctahedra. All Zn–Si bond lengths are 2.78 Å. Si is bonded to four equivalent Zn and eight equivalent Si atoms to form SiZn4Si8 cuboctahedra that share corners with twelve equivalent SiZn4Si8 cuboctahedra, edges with eight equivalent ZnSi12 cuboctahedra, edges with sixteen equivalent SiZn4Si8 cuboctahedra, faces with four equivalent ZnSi12 cuboctahedra, and faces with fourteen equivalent SiZn4Si8 cuboctahedra. All Si–Si bond lengths are 2.78 Å.
